May 16th Deadline 

Organizations that need to file a 990 series return for the May 16th deadline include: 

  • Organizations whose original 990 series deadline was November 15th, but filed Form 8868 and received a 6-month extension must file their 990 series return by midnight! 
    • For these organizations, they cannot file Form 8868 again. They must submit their 990 series return by midnight to avoid IRS penalties. 
  • Organizations that operate on a calendar tax year.
